Christopher Marson Watercolour Workshop
The workshop, which is designed for beginners to advanced painters, includes a morning demonstration with a step-by-step simple explanation of solutions to the problems presented by the subject, personal instruction follows as the students paint on their own.
The afternoon demonstration will be more concerned with technique and explorations of watercolour options. A group critique will be held at the end of each day.
Chris creates a casual and friendly atmosphere allowing an easy, open dialogue with his students. The enjoyment of making watercolour is his primary focus.
Emphasis will be on design principles, composition, and color/value relationships.
The objective is to build strong paintings by seeing and thinking simply, painting quickly and energetically, and focusing on the idea of the painting.
Big brush, big shapes and paint from the shoulder.
Workshop will start from the Dockyard Arts Centre on Saturday June 6th at 10 am but we will be working outside, weather permitting.
Location of second day session will depend on how the group feels.

The workshop went well, students were keen and
worked hard to try out the new ideas which were
presented to them, weather drove us into the
gallery for the second day but we coped.
